For those just getting started we frequently hear questions about what is the difference between White Rosin, Amber Rosin and Black Rosin.

As well, some ask why do I need it?

The short answer is to help you keep your hand closed and secure in your bull rope.

For the most part Amber Rosin and White rosin (the color of the rock) are one in the same and most common for those just getting started out riding bulls. Amber Rosin can come in many different forms such as pellets, large rocks, crushed and even gel like. We provide a Premium Quality Amber Rosin in a medium sized rock form that we have found to be the cleanest and extremely sticky. It has a low temperature melting point to help  you reduce wear on both your rope and glove.

The most common is a 1 Lb sift through bag that has a variety of sizes rocks with in it. We recommend taking a small (dime size) rock and crush it in your glove by squeezing it or tapping your hand against a arena panel and then applying it by using friction on your bull rope handle and the portion of the tail where your hand will be. By pulling your hand across the inside of the handle and down the tail portion you will see the rock and powder start to heat up and become extremely sticky to the point you have a difficult time pulling your hand or even opening your hand. We do recommend using a wire brush on both your bull rope handle and tail prior to each time you apply more rosin. This will help keep your rope from collecting excess rosin as well as dirt and grime.

As one might expect Black Rosin is dark in color in it's natural form. Most darker rosins become even more sticky than a traditional Amber Rosin. We make our Black Rosin by using the dark colored natural rosin and blending several additional products to make it more like a Super Black Rosin. It comes in a Rock form. It is not gooy or jel and will remain in a rock form unless it is exposed to excessive temperatures for an extended period. It could then become gummed, however once the temperature is reduced it will return to the rock form. some Black Rosins can cause excessive build up on your rope which can reduce the life of your rope. However the blend we have created seems to reduce most of those concerns and the feedback we have received from our Pro Riders is they love it. It is the stickiest Black Rosin they have ever used.
