Friday evening in Webster City I had the rare opportunity to spend sometime with the owner, Tom Smith of SEBRA - Southern Extreme Bullriding Association. We have watched this group really gain some excellent traction and take the eastern region by storm with over 250 bull riding events. Some of the top hands are coming out of this circuit.
We are looking forward to becoming involved in a great organization. Look for some exciting developments in the coming weeks.
Spur' It Up!
Over the weekend we had a chance to attend the events in Mason City sanctioned by the NABA - North American Bull Riding Association. The event was produced by T & C Rodeo Company and promoted by Brandon Robbins.
I had a great time. Honestly...I did!
Full disclosure my oldest son, Ethan, was able to get on his first sheep of the year...I was stoked and so was he. Unfortunately the only shot we got was after he hit the ground. I guess Grandma & Grandpa were busy cheering him on. Nathan and I were busy helping him out in the chutes....so here goes....he did awesome!
My youngest on the other had...., Elijah, started out scared of the bulls.... but it didn't take him long to decide he wanted to ride everything in the backpens....scary when your (just turned) 2 year old points at all of them and says "I ride'em ~ Daddy". I almost let him play the game like big brother, but stopped short. Closest he got was to try on big brothers gear. Maybe later on this year....
They had an excellent turn out of bull riders from all across the US. I want to say almost 50 guys including Ronnie Kitchens. So, it makes me wonder what to expect for this summer when it really heats up with 30-40 NABA events in Iowa. Should be some serious competition.
I'll be adding quite a few new pictures over on Flickr.com shortly.

PS: If you get a chance to see "Hippie" he had the place rollin with laughter! Turning into a top level Rodeo Clown! Keep it up man...
Over the last months and weeks many rumors have been abound related to the future of the IPRA. We have fielded a ton of questions and too be honest we had to respond..."Gosh...golly...gee...I dun...know"
I see now the IPRA has posted some new information on their website:
--------------------------------------------####
A small group of investors have a signed purchase agreement to purchase the International Pro Rodeo Association (IPRA). The IPRA Office will be in Oklahoma City and should be in operation Monday, February 26, 2007. Butch Stewart will remain as the Executive Director and Dale Yerigan will be the General Manager.
We will get more information out as soon as possible, until then please check the IPRA website for any updates. The International Finals Rodeo (IFR 38) will return to Oklahoma City, January, 2008. You may reach the IPRA Headquarters at (405)235-6540. Thank you for your cooperation and patience during this transition.
Good Luck to all,
Dale Yerigan

Sooo....I'm assuming (and that generally is bad) it's not the "World Rodeo Federation" as originally released. However, not real sure. The latest I heard was a group of IPRA Stock Contractors stepped up to save the day and prevent mass exodus by its members.
We would sure like to hear from you as to what the "real deal" is with the IPRA?
Looks to me like the IPRA could benefit from the use of a BLOG!
