The PBR showcases the new PBR Team Shootout on ESPN2

PUEBLO, Colo. (June 26, 2008) - The Professional Bull Riders, Inc. will debut the 2008 PBR Team Shootout, a new two-man team competition featuring the greatest bull riders in the world. The five-event original series will occur at select bull riding events across the country and will be shown exclusively on ESPN2. The series marks the PBR’s first bull riding broadcasts on the ESPN family of networks.

The new format will showcase the top 20 bull riders in the elite Built Ford Tough Series (BFTS) presented by Wrangler World Standings and a teammate of their choice from all eligible PBR card holders. Each team member will ride two bulls at each nationally televised event, with the highest score on four bulls determining the winning team. In these winner-take-all events, each team will compete to take home individual event purses and all teams will be competing for points to qualify for the 2008 PBR Team Shootout final event.

Each team will compete at two PBR events from those listed below (ten teams at each event), with the top ten teams from the first four events competing at the 2008 PBR Team Shootout Finals in Pueblo, CO, which will be aired Sunday, September 14, 2008 at 3 p.m. ET. The team that wins the season title will take home the entire championship purse.

"The PBR is proud to work with ESPN to showcase the "Toughest Sport on Dirt" to a new audience of dedicated sports fans," stated Randy Bernard, PBR CEO. "The events we've selected have a strong fan base that is knowledgeable about the PBR, and we are confident they will enjoy this new competition format."

Final Event Results for the Des Moines Classic

DES MOINES, Ia. (May 3, 2008) - The Des Moines Classic treated fans to two action packed nights of the best bull riding in the world. The 19th stop of the elite Professional Bull Riders’ (PBR) Built Ford Tough Series presented by Wrangler (BFTS) made its debut appearance at the Wells Fargo Arena. Current points’ leader, Guilherme Marchi (Leme, Sao Paulo, Brazil) walked away with top honors and separated himself even further from the field of 45 bull riders.

During the first round of competition, Marchi scored 86 points aboard #10 Bucking Bulls’ Bad Brad on Friday night. In the second round of action, he topped Chad Berger/Clay Struve’s Spiderman for 84.75 points. Marchi’s consistency paid off when he scored 88.25 points aboard D&H Cattle Co.’s Bad Yeller during the Built Ford Tough Championship Round. As the only man to ride all three bulls and a total score of 259 points, he easily claimed the event championship and the $27,320 in prize money.

“I’ve tried and tried in the past to win the PBR World Championship,” said Marchi. “This year I’ve trained a little harder and had a lot of support from my friends and family. I hope that it’s finally my time.”

The Des Moines Classic event win marks the third win of the season for Marchi and his ninth career victory. The sensational bull rider from Brazil has maintained an exceptional 80.36% riding percentage through 19 BFTS events this season. Through the first half of the season, Marchi has dominated the chase for the 2008 PBR World Championship, extending his lead to more than 3,000 points.

Texas cowboy, Zack Brown (Santa Fe) continued to move toward the top of the standings by claiming second place overall in the event with 179 points. In the first round, Brown received 88.25 points aboard Danny Lemmons’ Splat Kat. In the second round, he was bucked off of Page & Teague Bucking Bulls’ Page W4L but his single score was enough to qualify him for the Built Ford Tough Championship Round. Brown claimed the win during the final round of action when he scored 90.75 points aboard Chad Berger/Clay Struve/Julie Rosen’s Sir Patrick. Brown earned $16,718 for his performance.

Event alternate, Harve Stewart (Stephenville, Texas) did his best to re-claim his spot among the elite bull riders when he took third place in the overall event standings. Although he was bucked off of Stace Smith’s Wild Berry in round one, he dominated Silverado Rodeo Company’s Malibu in round two and received 88 points. In the Built Ford Tough Championship Round, Stewart scored 90.5 points aboard Frontier/Teague/Ron White’s Nervous Waters. Stewart added $11,334 in PBR bucks to his pocket book.

Fourth place was claimed by three-time PBR World Champion, Adriano Moraes (Cachoeira Paulista, Sao Paulo, Brazil) with a total score of 177.5 points. Earlier this season Moraes announced that 2008 would be his farewell tour and he’s making the most of it with five top five finishes thus far in the year. Clayton Foltyn (El Campo, Texas) rounded out the top five with 177 points.

The PBR Team Challenge was once again a thrilling race in Des Moines. Twenty-two teams have been formed, each providing $50,000 for the opportunity to win their share of the $1.1 million total competition purse through the 2008 season. The teams known as D&H/Enlow/Gilbert and Ron White’s Comedy Tour tied for the win with 222.5 points and they each took home $15,000 in prize money.

The race for PBR’s million dollar world title takes the top 45 bull riders in the world to San Antonio, Texas for the Ford Best in Texas Shootout on May 17. The VERSUS network airs PBR events every Saturday and Sunday evening. Be sure to check www.pbrnow.com for upcoming cities, ticket information, and complete broadcast times.

BEHIND THE CHUTES

Enterprise Rent-A-Car’s “Ride with the Best” Bonus:
As the winner of round two at the Cooper Tires Invitational, Mike White (De Kalb, Texas) was eligible to compete for the $5,000 Enterprise Rent-A-Car “Ride with the Best” bonus during round one of Des Moines Classic. He did not make the required eight second whistle aboard Three Alarm, thus the $5,000 bonus was awarded to Frontier Rodeo Company.

The Des Moines Classic round one winner, Luke Snyder (Raymore, Mo.) was eligible to compete for the $5,000 Enterprise Rent-A-Car “Ride with the Best” bonus during the second round of competition in Des Moines. Snyder did not make the eight second whistle on the bull, Spit Fire, and consequently, C&G Rodeo Livestock, LLC was awarded the $5,000 bonus. As the winner of round two, L.J. Jenkins (Texico, N.M.) will be eligible for the bonus May 17 in San Antonio, Texas.

Ford Truck Moment of Truth Bonus:
Adriano Moraes (Cachoeira Paulista, SP, Brazil) was in the lead going into the Built Ford Tough Championship Round and ultimately did not win the Des Moines Classic event title. As the $10,000 bonus was not claimed, it will increase to $15,000 at the Ford Best in Texas Shootout in San Antonio, Texas on May 17. The bonus grows by $5,000 each week if it is not claimed. Once claimed, it returns to $5,000.

Ford Super Duty Challenge:
As the Des Moines Classic event winner, Guilherme Marchi (Leme, SP, Brazil) has qualified for a chance to compete at the PBR Built Ford Tough World Finals, against all other 2008 Built Ford Tough Series event winners, for $50,000 toward the purchase of a 2009 Ford Super Duty Truck. The Ford Super Duty Challenge contestant who finishes the highest in the event aggregate during the 2008 PBR Built Ford Tough World Finals will win the Ford Super Duty Challenge.

Salem NationaLease Bull of the Event:
Jacob’s Pet owned by D&H Cattle Co./Runyan earned Bull of the Event honors with a score of 46.50 points in Des Moines. This honor is acknowledged by an award of $1,250 going to the top bull of each event as determined by the PBR judges’ bull score.

Cabela’s World’s Foremost Ride:
L.J. Jenkins (Texico, N.M.) recorded the highest marked ride of the event when he scored 92 points on Chad Berger/Denny Hawks’ Scaredy Cat, during the second round of the Des Moines Classic. Consequently, he earned a $1,000 bonus.

The rider who achieves the highest score at each BFTS regular season event, excluding the PBR World Finals receives a bonus of $1,000 for the accomplishment. The PBR athlete who achieves the highest marked qualifying ride during the entire 2008 BFTS regular season, excluding the PBR World Finals event will receive $25,000, while second and third place finishers will be awarded $10,000 and $5,000, respectively. The bull rider who achieves the highest marked ride through the course of the entire 2008 PBR BFTS World Finals will earn an additional $10,000.

PBR Des Moines Classic - This weekend!

Desmoineslogopbr

There is no doubt in my mind that Iowa has never experienced Bull Riding like what is about to take place this weekend at the PBR Des Moines Classic.

As I travel around the region spreading the word I commonly hear "ya, there is a bull ride in Des Moines, but they've had it before and it wasn't that great, what's the big deal?".....

Well, Iowa has never had it like this one!

We've had World's Toughest Bulls & Broncs. We've had PCB. We've had NABA, BOA, NFPB, IRA, IPRA, IRCA, PRCA, URA, CPRA, WBF and even a PBR at the State Fair...

however it wasn't a Built Ford Tough Series Event

it was a feeder tour....as they say....

"This ain't no rodeo...it is the one and only PBR"

This one is the real deal worth investing the time and money to go see. I can promise you it is the best family entertainment you can find. I know the Globe Trotters are pretty exciting ...I took both the boys and had a blast....but you just can't explain what this one is like without going. TV coverage is great...but sitting there just does something to you. It sucks you in and you become addicted.

Times are tight. Everyone is being beaten into submission by out of control fuel prices, the fear of not making the house payments and is my job going to be sent overseas.....why in the world would you not take a break from the day to day grind and watch 45 Cowboys go head to head with the rankest bulls in the world? A fortunate few will spur the hair off a 2,000 lb bull, while others will face plant head first in the dirt!

Cancel your plans....pack the truck (or the fuel efficient We~go) and get your tickets to the PBR Des Moines Classic. Over 30 lucky customers won tickets and will be making the trip with us on Friday evening. Look for us in Section 208 & 209.

PBR Institutes Drug Testing Policy

Drug Testing Started at PBR's VERSUS Invitational

NEW YORK (January 6, 2008) - In recent weeks steroid use has taken center stage in the sports world.  As major league baseball players have had to respond to the questions and speculations, so have bull riding athletes.  But it’s not the bull riders who are the target of the rumors – it’s the bulls.

Whether the bucking bull steroid problem is real or perceived, the Professional Bull Riders, Inc. (PBR) has deemed the issue of such importance that it has developed a PBR Bull Testing Committee which is introducing a Steroid Testing Policy for the 2008 Built Ford Tough Series season. Under the new policy, PBR will test the top performing bull or bulls at various events throughout the season. The first such testing was conducted following the conclusion of the PBR’s VERSUS Invitational event held this weekend at Madison Square Garden in New York City. A stock contractor whose bull is found to have yielded a positive test result will be subject to discipline by the Committee.

While it is unclear to what extent, if any, bulls competing in sanctioned PBR events are being subjected to anabolic steroid treatments, concerns have been raised of late, in large part by PBR member stock contractors themselves, with respect to that very possibility. Those concerns could be residual in nature.  Proponents contend that steroid use was far more prevalent in the past.  Stock contractors have since realized that the serious and detrimental side-effects that steroids had upon their bulls simply out weighed any benefit gained.

In an effort to ensure and maintain the integrity of competition and the health of its bull athletes, PBR and its Bull Testing Committee have partnered with the leading veterinarian in the bucking bull industry, Dr. Gary Warner, DVM. and world renowned veterinary scientist Dr. Walter Hyde, M.S., Ph.D. to create the first ever anabolic steroid bull testing protocol and policy in the history of the sport.  Testing methods will include taking samples of a bull’s blood and urine.

The Bull Testing Committee is comprised of PBR Board Advisors Ty Murray and Cody Lambert, Richard Patterson, co-founder and partner of Spire Capital Partners LLC and Chairman of PBR's Corporate Board, and Matthew A. Rivela, PBR's General Counsel.  In keeping with the belief that PBR's founding cowboys should still drive those decisions which tend to affect the sport of bull riding, the PBR Board of Directors have seen fit to create three advisory committees to that end. In addition to the Bull Testing Committee, there currently also exists a Competition/Rules and Regulations Committee and a Conduct Committee.

For more information on the PBR Steroid Testing policy, please contact Denise M. Abbott at 719 242 2800 ext. 3-381 or dabbott@pbrnow.com.

JUSTIN McBRIDE GETS TOUGH ON THE COMPETITION TO WIN SECOND PBR WORLD TITLE IN THREE YEARS!

WILEY PETERSEN CLINCHES THE 2007 PBR BUILT FORD TOUGH WORLD FINALS EVENT

LAS VEGAS, Nev. (November 4, 2007) - With the crew from "CSI Las Vegas" shooting an episode at today's PBR Built Ford Tough World Finals presented by Wrangler, Justin McBride (Elk City, OK) returned to the scene of the crime of his 2005 PBR World Title victory aboard his "accomplice" Boyd/Floyd/Paradise Farm's Camo to capture his second PBR World Title in three years. Just as he did in 2005, McBride once again sealed the deal for his second PBR World Title in the Built Ford Tough Championship round aboard Camo. This time he covered the bull with a 92.25 -- his fourth ride of 90 or better this week.

It was a week of redemption for McBride after getting bucked on all three of his rides the previous weekend. McBride ended the 2007 Built Ford Tough Series (BFTS) season as its million dollar bonus baby. He finished atop the Built Ford Tough Series Point Standings with 14,820.25 while earning $1,860,321.26

"After the first week I remembered the advice Ty Murray had given me and that was to quit trying not to lose and start riding like I want to win," said McBride. "I put those first three rides from the first week behind me and took it one go-around at a time. I felt like I could break 90 before every ride this week. I paid for my 3,200-acre ranch with my winnings tonight."

McBride is scheduled to have surgery on his left shoulder in early December. He is looking at six to eight months for recovery and rehabilitation after that.

The 2007 PBR Built Ford Tough World Finals, and the winner's share of $225,000, was won by Wiley Petersen (Fort Hall, ID.). Petersen collected 531.25 points besting second place Guilherme Marchi (Leme, SP, Brazil) by 6.75 points. Petersen and Marchi were the only riders to surpass 500 points for the event.

"I drew great bulls and stayed on them throughout the entire event," said Petersen who covered six of the first seven bulls he attempted going into the final short-go. "It's been a tremendous week where everything seemed to go my way."

Thirteen of the season's top 45 riders successfully rode the rankest bucking bulls in today's seventh round, with the top 15 moving into the eighth and final championship round. Only three riders covered their short-go attempts.

Injury Report:

Travis Briscoe (Edgewood, N.M.) - Sustained bruised ribs. Appointment scheduled with hand specialist regarding previous injury. Competing.

PBR pays out $2.4 million in bull program

The PBR announces exciting opportunity for bull riding fans

PUEBLO, Colo. (August 30, 2007) - The Professional Bull Riders, Inc. (PBR) announces a new and lucrative opportunity to become involved with the PBR’s bovine stars with 2.4 million in prize money. Starting immediately, the PBR will take entries from anyone wanting to purchase a team of five bulls for the 2008 Built Ford Tough Series presented by Wrangler (BFTS) season. A team can be purchased for $50,000 and each investor will own the team rights for an entire year. The new program will be limited to 48 teams. Each team of five bulls will consist of only one bull from the top 48 ranked bulls plus two alternate bulls.

The new program will pay out $20,000 at each BFTS event to the winning team. The top 20 teams at end of the regular BFTS season will qualify for the elite PBR Built Ford Tough World Finals presented by Wrangler. The winning bull team at the 2008 PBR Finals will walk away with an astonishing $500,000 dollars.

“We wanted to create a way for someone who doesn’t have $100,000 to buy a top bull to still be involved in the bull business. This is going to give an equal opportunity to everyone -- to create a team and get a chance for a $500,000 payout,” stated Randy Bernard, PBR CEO.

The pay out for the first four places at BFTS events is as follows:

1) $20,000; 2) $15,000; 3) $7,500; 4) $5,000

The PBR will pay out the first ten places at the BFTS World Finals—giving $50,000 to places four through ten. The payout for the first four places is as follows:

1) $500,000; 2) $250,000; 3) $100,000; 4) $50,000;

Stock contractors will receive a percentage of the winnings and will continue to own and manage their own bulls.

The deadline to enter is November 16, 2007. Fans can enter by contacting the PBR’s Event Tours Department at 719.242.2800 ext. 3230.
